30 Reasons Why You Should Vote

200810062355400milton-glaser_web.jpg

Curated by Julia Zimmerman, Chris Thomas, and Jesse Arneson, “30 Reasons” is a serious of political posters that are unveiled each day for 30 days leading up to the 2008 election. Well done, and well designed.

It’s hard to believe that no one has ever thought of doing this before!

Here’s a list of the places we went to from Coney Island to Greenpoint:

A. Totonno’s
B. L&B Spumoni Gardens
C. Di Fara’s Pizzeria
D. Lucali’s
E. Girmaldi’s
F. Vinnie’s Pizza

To see all of the photos, click on a pic above. If I’m feeling ambitious enough, i might even write a description of each slice. In the end the winner is… me, because I got to eat pizza for breakfast lunch and dinner.

Diesel Turns Thirty… And It’s Dirty

To celebrate its XXXth birthday, Diesel goes triple ex.  Originally done by SFW Porn, Diesel borrows clips from the wonderful world of porn to create its latest promotion.

Watch the video without sound first. It is amazing how different the video is without sound.

The Simplest Weather Site Ever

 picture-10.png

I sat and watched the weather channel for 20 minutes this morning to answer a couple of simple questions. What’s the temperature, and will i need to bring an umbrella to work?

Instead I got commercials, national weather, hurricane updates, badly dressed weather men, and semi hot weather ladies.

The solution?
Go to the simplest weather website ever: www.umbrellatoday.com. You type in your zip code, and it either says ‘YES’ you need an umbrella or ‘NO’ go enjoy the sunshine. Other alternatives are looking out the window or actually going outside to see what the weather is like. But who does that these days anyway?

Bike Theft

If you are a biker in any one of the major city’s of the world, then you know about getting your bike jacked. After getting everything from pedals, a seat, tires, to my entire bike stolen, I decided to start keeping my bike in doors. Of course my girlfriend was not excited about this move, and it has been her amo for a lot of fights (”why are you home so late??! were you out with some other girls? you are hanging out with other girls and you have that stupid bike in our apartment!!”).

Well now I have some proof that it is a bad idea to leave your bike chained up outside. Recently, a bike thief in Toronto was caught with a record setting 2,396 stolen bikes (you should def. read the full story, this guy was a nut). Never mind the fact that storing over 2,000 stolen bikes would be difficult, what the hell would you do with that many stolen bikes? And how!? you would have to steal one bike a day, everyday, for over 4 years.

Well, a couple of bikers in NYC set out to answer that question:

Olympic Icons

Is it just me, or does it seem like the Olympics are trying to send a message with the Men’s Diving icon?

Wakin’ by Bacon

Matty Sallin wins my award for best alarm clock designer. This little piggy wakes you up the ‘good Ol’ fashion’ way, with the smell of crispy bacon. My only concern is leaving a piece of raw bacon in a wooden box over night….

The Retort

Atom.com: Funny Videos | Funny Cartoons | Comedy Central

I saw this on Comedy Central the other day. I don’t know if it has the same impact on the web as it does on TV. It is pretty obvious what is going to happen. But I guess since it was on TV I was like “are they gonna show it? Are the gonna show it?”

It is a pretty tight video too. And the guy who made it, Travis Betz, did everything from the props to the music. Makes for a great video to send to your boss.

I Don’t Wear Hats

But if I did, I would wear this one.

The Nike 112 Pack is said to release soon (early July), and DJ Clark Kent has designed a New Era 59FIFTY lid to go along with the kicks. The hat has neon green embroidery for the Brooklyn “B” and the 112_ _  on the back.  It features 3M reflective material on the brim and the back panel. And under the brim is some elephant print for good measure. The first place you will be able to get it is most likely at Vinnie’s Styles on Flabush ave. in Brooklyn.
