Bed-Stuy Beats
I’d like to think that I am some kind of music aficionado, ha. I did try to turn people onto a sexy brown little beat maker named Maya Arulpragasam after visiting London a couple of years ago, but noone understood. “what genre is that,” what kind of music is that crap.” Now, there isn’t anyone that doesn’t know who M.I.A. is.
Anyway, enough music snobbery. My new obsession for the last few months is a Bed-Stuy native named Santogold. She’s got those catchy genre-bending beats that M.I.A. has grown up on with a Afro influence.
Whatever, its good stuff. Her album drops on April 29th supposedly.
